NOTE: Change your screen
properties/appearance/effects to "Show window content while dragging" for
best effects
iMage Clip is a desktop tool that combines a capture utility with drag'n drop image
viewing and processing while doubling as a clipboard extension for graphics! You
can load a multitude of graphic formats and save as bitmap, jpeg, png image,
gif or a 256 color icon. iMage Clip must be one of the most flexible and comprehensive examples of this
kind of software you can find. ... and it's FREE. An iMage Clip can be very useful in keeping an instantly available
copy of anything on the screen for reference.

You can drop a filename on iMage Clip, you can drag an image to it or you can set it
to watch the clipboard for images. iMage Clip will accept a wide range of graphic
formats for viewing.
If you can't copy it then capture it! As a capture utility, iMage Clip can be moved
and resized with the mouse to cover any area from a few pixels to a full screen.
It will capture whatever is under the window.
An iMage Clip image can be resized by resizing the window and re-sampling the image
to that size. Unless Stretch Image is set, the image will remain proportional
while the window is resized. You can choose to use one of six standard
re-sampling filters or choose None when just simple resizing will be used. Double clicking
the window will show it full screen or, if full screen, restore it to its
previous size.
iMage Clip is particularly useful in resizing an image as the window can be placed
over, for example, an html page and the image re-sampled to the correct size.
There are rulers to help in resizing that can be toggled on and off.
An iMage Clip image can be rotated through 90 degree moves in either direction. You
can cut a section using CTRL+mouse to create selection area. NOTE that the image
has to be full size for this option. If the CTRL key is held on the mouse up
action, the iMage Clip image will be replaced with the cut selection, if not, the
selection will be copied to clipboard.
With XP or later, you can set the alpha-blend or transparency of the iMage Clip
window. If checked, the transparency can be adjusted with the mouse wheel. This
option is useful when capturing because it allows you to see the screen through
iMage Clip. It is also used to merge the iMage Clip image with the area under the window;
the degree of transparency dictating the blending of the images.
iMage Clip images can be saved or 'clipped' to the image folder. The image can be
saved as one of four graphic formats. The saved image is given a date-time based
filename. The number of images is shown at the top of the popup menu, clicking
on it will open the image folder with Explorer. Using left and right keys will
scroll through the images saved by iMage Clip. Use DEL to delete a scrolled image in
the viewer.
If you choose Watch clipboard, any copied image will be copied to iMage
Clip. If you
set Auto clip, any change of image will result in the image being saved in its
original size in the format you have chosen.
iMage Clip will open in the position, size and with the content it was closed with.
iMage Clip can load the current wallpaper and set the
current image as wallpaper.
NOTE: If you save as an Icon, the graphic will be
reduced to a 32 x 32 pixel bitmap before creating the icon. If the
original graphic is not square, there will be some distortion.
